For those of you, who could not believe that Bergen can get any nicer: you are proven wrong. My lovely girlfriend arrived yesterday and brough the sunshine. First stop was of course Fløyen before heading down in the small streets of Bergen - many of which I had not seen before.
In the evening I invited Diane to DNS - den national scene - to see Peer Gynt. What I believed to be an opera turned out to be a drama and the music of grieg - the reason for us to see it - had been replaced with some modern music. Drama is hard to follow if you don’t get a word.

Jukka, Nick and me started our hiking tour at Hatleberg at 10am today. We climbed up to Kvitebjørnen and walked from their along the plane to Fløyen, ate our sandwhiches and went down to Bergen “sentrum”. After a nice coffee on the greens in front of the opera we walked back to Hatleberg. All in all a 6 hour hike, 5 hours of walking.

We went again to same place swimming, but as you can see: the group is much bigger! Swimming in Bergen is not something for crazy people, but possible for everybody.

Today I walked again through Bergen and ate a very nice sandwhich at Colonialen near the Opera.
This season the Bergen Opera Ensemble will perform Grieg’s Peer Gynt - I definitely will see this. Later I met with Geir - you remember the guy from monday - and had a coffee at Macumba near the tourist information. It took the waiter hours to get our coffee, but the chat with Geir was very nice. He invited me to his play on saturday to eat Bacalao. I am very happy that I got so quickly into contact with so many people here.
