The sound of the police
August 12th, 2005
I went to the police this morning to apply for a residence permit. Knowing that I won’t be the only one, I got there 30 mins before doors open. My queue number: 7! I strongly recommend everybody to do the same. People that came at 9am - when the doors opened - got queue number 50.
As I have private health insurance over in Germany, I didn’t take a E111-form or anything else, because I am supposed to pay the docs in cash. The police offices told me, that I had been the first person telling him that kind of story and that he absolutely needed prove. They registered me but put a note on my file stating that the status has to be re-checked. Everybody in my situation should bring a copy of the insurance policy.
